Kemi

More from the archives of Gidan Nodza... I actually forgot that I made this bag; it was that long time Ago, as you can see I hadn’t moved up to using leather yet I was still finding my feet major when I made this bag. A friend of mine Kemi ordered for it and I was so nervous delivering the bag… but she actually liked it enough to order for another one, I’ll see if I can find the picture of that one cos I wasn’t very good at keeping records/pictures then but I’ll search for it but if I don’t find it I’m sooo sure I’ll find something else. This bag is a messenger bag, I can’t remember the size at all but from the pix it is a fairly sized bag, the handle strap is adjustable and the canvas used was padded to make bag sturdy enough to sit by itself, bag zips close with a zipped pouch inside.

Frieda Red and Rosie Blue

Frieda Red

Rosie Blue

Finally the bags are ready, not exactly on schedule but ready nonetheless. I must confess that making the bags was a bit more challenging than I anticipated; I thought I had every move down to the last stitch on paper but then I found myself going myself going back to the drawing board... or book every now and then... but by and by the bags are ready yippee!!! So about the bags, Frieda red measures approx. 15 inches wide and 9 inches high, bag has centre compartment, zipped and phone pouches as well as a key ring holder so you won't have to scatter the contents in your bag when in a rush... believe me I've been there. Rosie blue measures approx. 17 inches wide and 11 inches high, bag has the same components as Frieda red, both bags have magnetic snaps on both ends. I hope you like them as much as I enjoyed making them.

Fabric of the moment

It took me three days (Approx) to process the fabrics in the photo and the finished items came out better than I expected (Thank God!) I simply love the two pieces of fabric, which are laid side by side in the photo, and I can't wait to use them for my next projects. For the blue fabric, which I call Blue Rosie, I will pair with shiny red leather, bronze accessories and brown lining. For the red fabric 'Frieda Red' I shall use very deep ox-blood coloured leather, bronze accessories and wine colored lining.
