Handbag Nike

The final bag from the last posted fabric of the moment.

Bright coloured accessories are "it" now but Nike is like a voice of reasoning amidst all the loudness, she is striking but understated in a matured way. This bag will complement anything you have and the lining is absolutely super. For more views on bag click

Shoulder bag Joda

Finally one bag from the last posted fabric of the moment is ready and I call her Joda.

Joda is eye catching, unique and functional and the braided handle is a touch of fresh air...even for me, this bag will brighten your mood every time. Click here for more views.

Yetunde's bag

I just delivered this bag the Saturday that just past so I can say it is fairly recent even though it was made and tagged like since last year. My friend Yetunde saw and wanted it as I had just finished it but she just got round to getting it a few days ago...don't ask why cos it's a looong story, anyhow she has her bag and needless to say she loved it and completely forgave that it was so late in coming. This bag is the first of its kind in terms of size because it is HUGE and will be best used for a holdall...maybe for that weekend getaway or that trip that you will want to "travel light". Bag measures approx. 21"w 16"h and 8"w, bag opens and closes with double zippers NB. zippers can also fit small padlocks to keep stuff extra safe...just in case you decide to save more cash and travel economy lol.

Bag is hand made using dyed cotton canvas, the interior is lined with dyed canvas and bag is paired with vermilion leather and bronze accessories. The side buckles can be used to expand the width of the bag a little more, the interior of bag has a zipped compartment and phone pouches. Also, the base of bag is studded for added protection.

Riddle me this...

How is it that I have a Master-Card from one of the top 5 banks in this country (and some if not all these banks have affiliates and even branches abroad) and I cannot make a simple purchase on-line from 99.9% shops that sell on the internet? For me the reason for getting the master card in the first place has been defeated, you spend time searching for that site that has most of what you want, you find the site and you see the very lovely master card logo on it, even if its not apparent you search further and you are told that international orders are accepted and you take your time to fill a long order sheet and submit, hold on! thats not all, you are told to call to confirm your order, you make the call you speak to someone who sounds like they just cannot be bothered and you are told to wait for a confirmation on your order, you wait a few minutes, then hours, then DAYS then YOU call back just to be told 'sorry we don't ship to Nigeria' WHAT!!! what about a little courtesy of replying as promised even if its to reject your offer to buy? believe you me this has happened to me on more than one occassion, unfortunately for me most of the tools of my trade that I need I can only get abroad but the moment I say I am in Nigeria or give a Nigerian billing address I get a Noooo we don't ship to blah! blah!! blah!!!...I know there is a lot of internet/credit card fraud and all but is there no way for some of these shops on-line in patnership with master- card and the likes to verify the authenticity of an order be it from anywhere before they reject it? I must admit it's painfull when you want to use our hard earned money to buy whats publicly available for sale...so called and you are rejected... it's like stereotyping. So now when I'm on the internet I see things I want to buy the first thing I do is to click 'add to cart ==> checkout==> pay' just to see if Nigeria is included in the list of countries they sell to and will ship to, 99.9% have Niger but not Nigeria, I mean do this people understand the revenue they are loosing? I don't think so cos if they did they will find a way to sift through request/orders made to know which to reject and which to honour, I think the benefit for them IN THE LONG RUN will far outweigh the risk... what with the unbelievable size of this country's people, abi I lie? I find myself having to improvise on my tools and also sending people going my wish list's way to help me purchase some things which is not without it's own wahala when my master-card is just wasting away and getting close to it's expiry date in my drawer, though I have to admit that I've made successful purchases from 2 on-line shops 'two thumbs up to them'... but hey you gotta agree that's like a drop in the Internet shop ocean. Phew! that's a mouth full... my longest post EVER! imagine that, and it has nothing to do with a bag... hmm! well at least that's off my chest for now.

Finding my feet

While we are waiting to see what will become of the "Fabric of the moment" enjoy more from the archives of Nodza. The colour of the canvas is actually wine and orange paired with dark tan leather, hard to believe from the pictures yeah? well that's what you get for using a phone camera... at night..and with very poor light. Bag is roomy and will balance well on your shoulder. The last picture is a similar design with very few changes, unfortunately I could only salvage this one picture.

Fabric of the moment

The two pieces above are the next projects I'm going to be working on very soon...like in a few hours soon, both fabrics will be used for roomy bags... and a clutch if I'm very ...VERY... lucky. Both fabrics will be paired with brown leather, white thread for the brownish looking fabric and eeemmm... I haven't decided for the red like fabric yet. The top fabric was dyed twice! Why? weeelllll basically because I was not satisfied with the first attempt and frankly I think it came out better for it, Tayo, my partner calls the dyeing method the layering technique, where a finished dyed fabric is re-dyed with almost the same consistency of dye and mixtures as the first time... which works perfectly for me, I think I might do more LAYERING in the future...must remember to patent technique lol!!! The second fabric was dyed after the wax was brushed onto the canvas by different sizes of brush, wax was also splashed to give it that artisty effect lol. Ok, I think I will halt here, gotta hold back something yeah... So, check back for the finished bags and I plan not to disappoint! Gracias.

Finding my feet

I made this bag a while back...like 2 years ago I can't be certain, I made it for a former colleague of mine (another custom order), I had given- out my camera which will explain the blurriness of the pictures because a phone camera was used hehehe don't blame me...it was either that or no pictures at all, anyways this is a drawstring bag and a very large one at that...can't remember the exact measurement but I remember that it is a big bag, the colour is actually black over canvas but it comes off looking like black and white, the leather is white with silver plated accessories. The base of bag is leather and and protected with bottom cups, the corner patches were decorated with eyelets. This is a bag I would love to redo because I feel I was really finding my feet with this one, and the deadline I had then didn't help matters...a deadline can make or break a bag (very personal opinion!) I have to remind myself to redo this design...just to prove a point to myself, definitely! so many bags to do sooo little time...
