From Canada...

Lori the lady that owns Cha Cha, one of the handbag designing blogs that I visit frequently for my daily dose of inspiration or for those days when doubt creeps in had a slightly used notebook that she wanted to give away...and guess who got the book? Nooooo not Jolie silly....ME!!! Just like her (Lori I mean) I have a soft spot for pocket notebooks and when I saw the one she was offering I HAD TO HAVE IT! ...so to cut long story short I wrote to her and she wrote back and two weeks later I am unwrapping the package while shouting yaaaaayyyyyy!!! All the way from Canada......*sigh* I love it.

Front-From her to me hehehehehe

Other front

Tadaaaaa...
Thank you!

Thank you so much Lori. Visit her blog
here to view her lovely bags and try your luck on a fabulous bag she is giving away, shhh...I have my eyes on that one too...hmm I wonder if lightning strikes the same place twice...

Have a fab weekend y'all.

My girl is moving up....

My friend and colleague just got a promotion and is moving to a new city- Abuja, though she is apprehensive about the move because (1) She has never been to Abuja before and (2) She has a 7 months+ old baby girl I know she is going to love it there, I mean after living and SURVIVING in this mad town Abuja will be like a breath of fresh air. Of course I couldnt let her go without giving her a moving up gift and in my world the perfect 'my girl is moving up' gift is a bag made by moi hence the pix above. Truth is I cannot remember when I made this clutch bag but it was long ago, for some reason I didnt want to sell it which is good because right now it is just the perfect gift. I grant you that with this clutch there will be no dull moment, pair it with some killer heels and you can snazz up even the dullest outfit. From the look of the clutch it can comfortably fit her phone, keys, 'essential' makeup, wallet, card holder and then some... I think.

Just so you all know I made two of these clutches (the second in brown with shinny yellow leather...just imagine) and I will be giving that away on this blog to that lucky lucky person soon. Remember to check back to find out how to win it.

Custom Made Bag For Kiki

My friend Kiki had a bag that she had soooo rocked and she didn’t want to let go...until now. I tried to make the bag as close to the original as I could but of course I still had to make it my own and I think it came out alright (I mean, if her reaction then and subsequently after that was anything to go by) Ehem... did I mention that the bag was hand-sewn to finish? My machines broke down while making this bag and I had to improvise...good thing I did because it forced me to study my Leatherworking Handbook which had been gathering dust on my shelf, how I pulled off the hand stitching thing is a story for another day cos I didn’t have the right hand tools to use but of course as an African Queen and a Naija babe to boot, I had to improvise big time.

Just so you all know, I absolutely love the challenge of making custom order bags. Just contact me with details and we will talk/write back and forth or better still send me pictures of the bag you rocked since when T-rex roamed the earth and we will see if we can spice/pimp up the bag for you (will post pix of Kiki's original bag asap)

The start up rate for a custom made Gidan Nodza bag is $125, that is N20,000.00 to you.

Have a wonderful weekend y'all.
