This design (all versions) was a big deal when it was eventually completed, the original was a custom request for a special GN faithful that wanted a roomy but not too big bag. She also wanted a hand bag, shoulder bag with a messenger style as well. The roomy but not too big part I achieved by using soft leather to fit-line the bag so the pouch and zipped compartment became one with the bag thereby eliminating the bagginess and puffiness that comes with cloth lining 🙌🏾🙌🏾, the gusset I also made expandable for extra room. Finishing the edges of the gusset I must admit had me questioning my decision not to go the safe way making the gusset i.e piping, folded edges, or even glued edges sef, Noooo! 😖 Gidan Nodza had to go the hard way😖😣... it took a number of filing and coating and filing and coating before we got the desired smoothness and even after that we did one more time just because😬 (see a brief post about the process) The result of this process is always worth the work every time 👍🏾
The handle-through-flap concept of this design is like the proverbial cherry on top👌🏾!
