Win a clutch bag for your two humps...I mean two cents

I completed this bag a couple of hours ago, not satisfied with the overall structural look I've decided to make it my arm candy of the moment just to see how it will hold. I've had the sketch of this bag for a very long time in my sketch book but didn't feel ready to try it out till now. At first glance the size of the bag and the two different ways of carrying it seems OK, variety is spice aye but the big question is will the "humps" work? It seems like it will sit well on it's own and all... but all that will be determined after I've manhandled it a couple of times then we'll know if it's a keeper. The combination of canvas, leather, lining and thread is great, though that is not in contention. (but I guess in using this bag as a test everything is) So, if you have the time please let me know your two cents about what you think of the design "yay" or "nay" and your reason(s) I'll give whosoever I agree with... wholeheartedly a small clutch bag which I will make with what is left of the canvas (but different leather though cos I think I've run out of this particular kind)

Interior seems like it can take a lot though...

I'll use this bag faithfully for a week or two then I will post back my findings and decision whether to keep the design as it is or modify some more and in that week or two I will announce the winner of the clutch bag.

Some more sisterly blog love...

LADI SAYS!

I've been getting a lot of love from my sister bloggers recently, Dolapo who owns Urbanknit in UK did a piece about yours truly a while back and now Ladi is giving me my 15 minutes of fame. I am so touched that people I do not know (till now) think my work is all that and they take the time to write about it. It's a good feeling, many times I battle with insecurities about what I'm doing, staying at a day job with little pay because it gives me some time (shift job with off days) and help support the passion, robbing Peter to pay Paul, people refusing to pay for goods delivered amongst many more hurdles, when I can flesh up my resume and find a better job with more pay...but at what cost? I guess what I'm trying to say is that it feels good to be noticed and be praised, it's a soothing balm for those days when it's just not your day.
So, check out their blogs here and here to find out what they are all about.

Blogger help group to the rescue!

For a very long time I've been trying to install the "comment" button on my blog but I never could do so, now I'm the type of person never asks for directions, I will keep driving around till I find the place/street I am looking for or till I notice that I've circled the same place more than 3 times! one time I actually went back home...it's that bad. So, back to comments on the blog, after so many wasted hours (which when accumulated will be days and days) on the Internet I finally gave in, swallowed my pride and admitted to myself that I am not such a GURU after all by posting an SOS on the blog group, and in no time my dilemma was resolved within just a few minutes. So, thanks to Howard and Maya from the Blogger help group you folks can leave your comments and questions and links and so on and so on...

Blue loves pink!

Check out this bag I made centuries ago lol...it's been soo long it feels like centuries, you can tell from the photography that Gidan Nodza has come a long way, beside the bag is my trusted old girl, my singer industrial machine, from the looks of her you can tell she's well used (second hand) and I love her to bits though we both have our moments. Now back to the bag, the navy blue/blue dyed canvas was paired with crocodile embossed leather and further excited with pink nylon thread, I think pink and navy blue or deep shade of blue look/work well together, I think I will try this combo again I have a navy blue/blue canvas I just dyed sooo... gosh I keep digressing, the bag is roomy tote like and lined with plain pink dyed canvas lining, silver accessories were used, YES!! I will re-do this combo (blue canvas and pink thread that is) might even do another version of this bag....whatcha think?
